How Drift protects your information

The privacy, AI, access and transport-security controls used across the Drift experience.

Immigration matters can involve sensitive information. Drift uses data minimisation, contractual safeguards and technical controls to reduce unnecessary exposure while helping you reach the right independent lawyer.

Share only what is needed

Drift asks for information relevant to your question, matching or booking. You should not send a passport number, visa number, full address, payment-card details or unrelated documents unless a specific and secure step clearly requires them.

Redaction before AI use

Automated controls are configured to detect and redact defined personal identifiers from AI processing, including phone numbers, addresses and passport or visa numbers where those patterns can be recognised.

No automated redaction system is perfect. Avoid entering unnecessary identifiers, and review any summary before approving it for sharing.

No general-purpose AI model training

Under Drift’s provider arrangements, customer conversation content is not used to train general-purpose AI models. Processing information to answer your request is different from using it to train a model.

Encryption in transit and HTTPS

Drift uses HTTPS to protect information while it travels between your device and our services. Requests to our domain are redirected to HTTPS, and active certificates are used for encrypted connections.

Regional data handling

Core customer-support data is configured for hosting in the European Union where the relevant production service provides an EU data region. Some infrastructure, security and delivery providers may process limited technical data in other locations under the safeguards described in our Privacy policy.

Access and independent lawyers

Access is limited according to role and purpose. A matched lawyer receives customer-approved information needed to consider or provide the requested service. Independent lawyers are separately responsible for data they process for legal advice or representation.

Payments

Payment-card details are processed by the payment provider. Drift uses payment status and transaction references for booking support but does not need full card details.

Your choices and rights

You can correct a draft summary before sharing it, decline a match and request human support. You may also exercise applicable data-protection rights, including access, correction and deletion, as explained in our Privacy policy.

What these safeguards do not mean

No online service can promise perfect security. Drift reviews its controls and providers, responds to incidents and updates public information when material practices change.
