Cancellations, rescheduling and refunds

What happens if a consultation is changed, missed, cancelled, or cannot go ahead.

Last updated: 7 August 2026

This policy explains the standard rules for consultations booked through Drift. The terms shown during checkout remain the binding terms for your booking, and mandatory consumer rights always take priority.

Changing or cancelling a consultation

You can normally cancel or reschedule without charge if you do so at least 24 hours before the appointment.

If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice or do not attend, the consultation fee may be charged. We will still consider circumstances where mandatory law or the applicable booking terms require a different result.

If the lawyer cannot attend

If the lawyer cancels, is unavailable, or identifies a conflict of interest, we will try to arrange a suitable replacement or another appointment.

If no acceptable replacement is arranged, the affected consultation fee will be refunded.

Refund requests

For any other refund request, email [email protected] with your booking reference and a short explanation. Please do not send unnecessary immigration documents.

Drift will coordinate the request. Because independent lawyers supply the legal service, the lawyer may be responsible for the invoice and supplier-side refund.

Representation and other legal work

Cancellation and refund terms for representation or other legal work are set out in the independent lawyer’s engagement agreement. Ending your use of Drift does not automatically end that agreement.

Consumer withdrawal rights

If a statutory withdrawal right applies, you will receive the required information during checkout. If you ask for a service to begin during the withdrawal period, the checkout flow may ask for the consent and acknowledgement required by law.
