AI transparency and limitations

What Drift’s AI does, where its limits are, and when a human or lawyer should step in.

Last updated: 7 August 2026

Drift uses AI to make general immigration information easier to navigate and to help customers prepare for a conversation with an independent lawyer.

What the AI can do

Drift’s AI can:

  • answer general immigration questions using approved sources;

  • ask questions that help organise the facts you provide;

  • prepare a draft summary for you to review;

  • explain the next step in Drift’s matching or booking process; and

  • support lawyer suggestions using approved matching factors.

What the AI cannot do

The AI does not provide personalised legal advice or legal representation. It cannot decide that you qualify, tell you which legal step you should take, guarantee an outcome, or confirm that travel or work is legally safe.

AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or outdated. Always check important information against current official sources and review any summary before it is shared.

When to speak with a lawyer

Get qualified legal help promptly if your matter involves a refusal, revocation, detention, removal risk, an expiring status, a legal deadline, uncertain travel, uncertain work rights, criminal issues, asylum or protection, or conflicting information from an authority.

Your choices

You can correct information, decline a lawyer suggestion, ask whether another lawyer is available, or request human support. Drift does not use an AI answer as a final legal decision about you.

Your information

AI conversations and customer-provided information are handled as described in our Privacy policy. Please share only what is needed for the question or service you are using.
